November 2-5, representatives of 12 countries gathered for the annual Fall Leadership Retreat, in Ireland. Four amazing days of spiritual emphasis, teaching, meeting, sharing, praying, fellowship, and visiting the Teen Challenge centers in Ireland.
Tiglin (Teen Challenge Ireland) operate a 16 month Residential treatment programme for men and women in addiction, a day programme for 20 participants who are at various stages of their recovery, and a mobile cafe called No Bucks Cafe.
Residential treatment programme
Tiglin operate a 16 month Residential treatment programme for men and women in addiction. Focusing on a range of life skills, theraphutic interventions, educational development and reintegration to society each student is offered a means to overcome their addiction in a Christian environment.
Tiglin also run a day programme for 20 participants who are at various stages of their recovery. Addressing addiction within the community offers those who cannot engage in residential treatment a way to find freedom by using the services available in society. Care plans are drawn up by key workers and a variety of courses, therapy groups, one to one counselling options and work experience modules form platforms from where participants can address the addiction issues within a caring, Christian environment.
No Bucks Cafe
Tiglin also operate a mobile cafe called No Bucks Cafe. Designed to meet the immediate needs of those living in homelessness and whose lives are effected by addiction No Bucks cafe provide outreach services, tea, coffee, sleeping bags and most importantly Hope.
Some good news! Recently Johnny Fearon from Ashgrove dental clinic from naas had a desire to help Teen Challenge Ireland - Tiglin - inso he set up a new dental clinic for students of the residential programme free of charge. Below is an article about this great initiative.
