Raskrsce Teen Challenge Serbia was founded by Sasha and Svetlana Ivanovic, who have also been rehabilitated from a heroin addiction in 1987. Raskrsce, TC Serbia, arised as an answer to the need of more and more people asking help from the Ivanovic's.
Raskrsce TC Serbia started it's first rehabilitation program in Novi Sad in the year 2000. The rehabilitation center for women is just outside the city of Novi Sad, on Cenej, and offers accomodation for 16 women. The men’s center is also on Cenej and has a capacity of 30 beds.
Raskrsce TC Serbia is an organization that accepts individual requests for help for men and women from all over Serbia, as well as from other countries in the region, including people sent by various public or state institutions.
The goal of Raskrsce TC Serbia is to offer a high quality rehabilitation program to provide a way out of drug addiction for the addict, and a full recovery for his family. The principles of rehabilitation are based on a holistic approach – psychological, social and physical.
Rehabilitation in centers is conducted based on the internationally recognized Teen Challenge program and curriculum which includes the following activities: isolation period, psychological support and counseling, education and preventive program, counseling for families and support groups. Within the curriculum an addict goes trough 14 areas which cover 3 aspects: nature of the problem of the addiction, self analysis and discovering the cause of a problem, and the spiritual aspect and posibilities of overcoming a problem.
Our goal, as well as our motive of helping is humanity, compassion and love without manipulation.
I'm Aleksandar Mitrovic. I'm 38. I grew up in normal conditions. I was a good child all the way through my childhood. That is when I became rebellious towards everything. I tried marihuana for the first time, and soon after that, I tried tramadol. My mother assumed that everything was wrong while my father was indifferent. Everything else was more important to him.
I'm Melanija and I'm from Novi Sad. I grew up in a seemingly normal family. My parents travelled a lot and I mostly remember those days spent in hotel rooms and by terrible loneliness. The only joyful and happy days were when I was at my grandparents. Then I felt love, attention, and tenderness which, unfortunately, I never felt at home. My mother was very strict, and my father was always absent because of his work.
